Benagil Cave & Trying Portuguese Food in the Algarve ???????? Carvoeiro Caves Tour, Portugal

Visiting one of the most iconic spots in the Algarve, Portugal, Benagil Cave & trying typical Portuguese food and drink: pão com choriço, steak on a stone, Algarve orange juice, and of course pastel de nata!

We started our day with a wonderful cave tour with CarvoieroCaves.com, starting by passing the Carvoeiro Boardwalk and Algar Seco with its dramatic limestone formations. Here we saw A Boneca, a cave ending with a window out to the ocean. We also got to sail right into some extraordinary caves, including the renowned Benagil cave with its collapsed roof and interior beach.

After the Carvoeiro Caves boat tour we headed over to Portimão to try some delicious Portuguese baked goods as recommended to us by our waiter from the previous evening. The pão com choriço was just like a pizza in my opinion!

Praia do Carvalho was next on our list with its unique entrance down some steps through a cave but as the sun was rapidly going down we didn't stay too long. Instead we headed back to Carvoeiro for a phenomenal sunset and a delicious Portuguese dinner of steak on a hot plate. Damn good!
