We drive to Sagres In The Algarve Portugal, explore Sagres Fort and explore the grounds with the Rose Compass and the beautiful little church The Church of Our Lady of Grace (Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Graca), The cliffs are impressive with a height of over 700 metres and the waves from the Atlantic Ocean crashing in from North America. Sagres has a small harbour with fishing boats and the name Sagres is also the name of a popular Portuguese beer!

After our visit to Sagres we drive the short distance to Cape Saint Vincent (Cabo de São Vicente), the most southwestern point in Portugal and continental Europe. Cape Saint Vincent would be the last view of Portugal that sailors would see in the middle ages as they headed out to discover new lands. Cape Saint Vincent has a lighthouse and is the second most powerful lighthouse light in Europe.
