(EN) Silves has been inhabited for many centuries. Visigoths, Romans and mainly Arabs left many marks of his presence. Its castle and the City Door are very well preserved as well as the Cathedral that deserve a visit. It was a more important city than Lisbon. In 1242 was conquered from the Arabs by the Portuguese and was the capital of the Algarve Kingdom until 1534. The old bridge is best known as Roman Bridge but there are only registrations that was built in the 15th century but was later destroyed and rebuilt due to floods of the River Arade. Until 1876 was the only bridge in this river between the east and the west of the Algarve. Silves Castle for its inner beauty deserves a video of its own.

O seu castelo e a Porta da Cidade estão muito bem preservados assim como a Sé Catedral que merecem uma visita. Chegou a ser uma cidade mais importante que Lisboa. Em 1242 foi conquistada aos árabes pelos portugueses e ficou como a capital do Reino do Algarve até 1534. A Ponte Velha é mais conhecida como Ponte Romana mas há apenas registo que foi construída no século XV mas foi mais tarde destruída e reconstruída devido a inundações do Rio Arade. Até 1876 foi a única ponte neste rio entre o leste e o oeste do Algarve. O castelo de Silves pela sua beleza interior merece um vídeo próprio.

El antiguo puente es mejor conocido como Puente Romano, pero solo hay registro que se construyó en el siglo XV, pero luego fue destruido y reconstruido debido a las inundaciones del río Arade. En 1242 a été conquis aux Arabes par les Portugais et était la capitale du royaume de l'Algarve jusqu'en 1534. L'ancien pont est surtout connu sous le nom de Pont Romain, mais il n'y a que des inscriptions de sa construction au XVe siècle mais il a été détruite et reconstruit en raison d'inondations de la rivière Arade. Jusqu'en 1876 était le seul pont sur cette rivière entre l'est et l'ouest de l'Algarve. Le Château de Silves pour sa beauté intérieure mérite une autre vidéo.
