Before Travel Information About Praia de Faro:

Faro Beach (Praia de Faro), is located approximately 6 Miles (10 kilometers) South West of Faro itself and just 2 Miles (3.5 Kilometers) from Faro International Airport.

The beach is actually part of an island, known as Ilha de Faro (Faro Island).

The beach is connected to the mainland by a bridge and can easily be accessed using one of the local bus services.

Faro Beach, is a very popular destination with locals, as it offers a relaxed atmosphere, different to many other beach resorts on the Algarve.

The beach itself, stretches approximately 3 Miles (5 Kilometers) along the island and has beautiful golden sands. However, at the opposite side to the back of the island, is the famous Ria Formosa.

Ria Formosa National Park:

Ria Formosa, consists of a lagoon and tidal mud flats. It is also a protected areas, that attracts an array of wildlife and birds.

Bars and Restaurants:

The road that runs along the beach, has several beach bars and restaurants, as well as small hotels.

Buses To Praia de Faro:

One of the best ways to get to Faro Beach, is by using one of the regular local bus services. The bus number 16 departs from the bus station in Faro. However, please note that the bus drops passengers at the bridge and then you will be required to walk from the bridge to the beach.
