Walking from  **largo Camões to Calçada do Combro**, at its highest point is the Pharmacy Museum and the Santa Catarina viewpoint, also known as Adamastor. In the center is a statue of the mythical giant referred to by Luís de Camões in Os Lusíadas.

As for the saint's story, she was a martyr with a curious life: also known as Catherine of Alexandria, she was an early fourth-century intellectual who suffered at the hands of the Roman Emperor Maximin Daia for converting to Christianity. With her power of argument, she managed to convert the emperor's wife and some of his prison guards.
