Before Travel Information About Olhao (Olhão):

Located just 15-20 minutes from Faro Airport, is the town of Olhao. The town dates back to the 17th Century and was originally a fishing town. Although the town still has a very busy fishing industry, it is also a popular place to visit in the Algarve.

The town now offers a relaxed atmosphere, with beaches and lagoons close by and a nice waterfront.

The towns cobbled streets are wonderful to walk around and one of the main attractions in Olhao, is the Nossa Senhora Church, that was originally built in 1715. The old Fishermen’s houses are a unique attraction in the town and the bars and cafes, provide a traditional atmosphere.
