HIKING IN BOHEMIAN SWITZERLAND PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC WHERE NARNIA WAS FILMED..Bohemian Switzerland, also known as Czech Switzerland, is a picturesque region in the north-western Czech Republic. It lies on the Czech side of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains north of Decín on both sides of the Elbe River. It extends eastward into the Lusatian Mountains and westward into the Ore Mountains. The symbol of Bohemian Switzerland, Pravcická brána, the largest sandstone arch in Europe.

The quickest way to get from Prague to Hrensko is to drive which costs 400 Kc - 600 Kc and takes 1h 30m. Is there a direct train between Prague and Hrensko? No, there is no direct train from Prague to Hrensko. However, there are services departing from Praha Hlavni Nadrazi and arriving at Schoena via Bad Schandau.

Getting to Bohemian Switzerland from Prague using public transit isn't the most simple thing to do but it is possible. The best way to get there is to take a train to Decin which takes about 90 minutes. You can then transfer to a bus heading to Hrensko and begin your hike from there.just like what we did.so tired but when you get there its Amazing Feeling and you will never forget the experience..


To get to Decín from Prague we recommend using a train because currently there are no direct buses available.

To travel by train it’s simple and affordable and it won’t cost you more than 9 Dollars..

The Eurocity Berliner runs every two hours from the main station (Hlavní nádraží) and it will take you to Decín in about an hour and a half.

You can also take any other regional trains which will get you there in around 2 hours. Just check the page that we mentioned above or go to the main station and ask about the train directly there.

If you come here in June, rain and wind can sometimes surprise you, just like what we experience,especially in the first half of the month.The highest temperatures do not exceed 27 ° C.
