Old Town Hall with its 70 meters (230 ft) tall tower was built in 1364. Originally the building served only as the city hall of the old town, but later became the city hall for all of Prague. It is now only used for ceremonial functions. Many tourists come here to see the Astronomical Clock built on top of the Town’s Hall tower that provides a musical show every hour from 8:00 Am to 8:00 PM. It was originally built in 1410 which makes it the oldest working astronomical clock in the world. The various signs on the clock stand for the phases of the moon, sun, zodiac, the seasons and also for some of the Christian holidays. A night visit is as must as a day visit.
