Prague is a beautiful city, an architectural gem with a fascinating history. The locals are friendly, the prices are reasonable, what’s not to like? There is even a regular non-stop bus between the main stations, close to the city hotels and the airport for just a few Euros. If you love trams you’ll love this place, they’re everywhere. The city straddles the Vltava (River) with the two sides connected by a series of ornate bridges. This is a city with an awesome skyline made up of ornate spires, fairy-tale castles, palaces and lofty cathedrals. The shops sell locally produced, glass, chocolates and souvenirs reflecting the Bohemian character of the people, amusing window displays will make you smile.
I arrived at my hotel a day before the tour I was booked on was due to start, giving me time to wander the streets, soak up the atmosphere, eat local sausage and enjoy a coffee or two. It was hard to put the camera down, there was a photo waiting to be snapped around every corner. This video starts with a walk from my hotel (Hotel Central) to Prague Castle via the Old Town Square and Mánes Bridge over the Vltava (River), followed by a long climb up a series of steps to Prague Castle where I was rewarded with amazing views and another delicious coffee.
The following day our tour kicked off with a ride in an amazing designer T3 Coupé tram, a wonderful combination of sixties style with a contemporary all white interior finish. In the evening we made our way to the jetty next to Charles Bridge where a vintage river boat was waiting to take us on evening dining cruise to see the city at sunset.
