Top 10 most terrifying water attractions in the world

Water parks, swimming pools, are other such water-themed attractions are meant be fun for
people of all ages, a place to have fun, relax, be at peace and just have a good time. But, not
all of these places are created equally. It's one thing to visit a water attraction to kick back but
it's quite another to have the living soul scared out of you because the attraction is so poorly
designed or just kicks in your fear of the water or heights. That being said, let's take a deep
dive and look at the top 10 most terrifying water attractions in the world.
10) The Joule Hotel pool
This infinity pool that can be found in Dallas’ Joule Hotel hangs eight feet out from the rest of
the building, which essentially is a pool that hovers hundreds of feet in the air. To make the
experience even scarier, the end of the pool that pushes out of the building is made entirely of
glass. There’s also bar service in the pool area, so that may explain the popularity of The
Joule’s mysterious hanging pool. If this entire scenario makes you feel a bit uneasy, especially
if you suffer from a fear of height, good, because that seems to be exactly what the hotel is
going for. According to the hotel’s website, the pool “gives guests the feeling of swimming out
beyond the edge of the hotel.”
9) Devil’s pool
You already know something odd is up when you have a place named Devil’s Pool. On the
Zambian side of Victoria Falls, dangling 355 feet in the air lies a natural infinity pool right where
the falls crash over the rock wall. When a person gets in the pool, there is only a thin layer of
rock preventing them from a sheer drop off the face of the falls. During most times of the year,
stepping foot in the Devil’s Pool would mean almost certain death, but for a small spell of time
each year, water levels are low enough that hundreds of people push their luck and jump into
this terrifying little body of water.
8) Leap of faith
Now this one you could either find terrifying or really cool. This is an incredibly beautiful waterslide that
you can find in the Bahamas Atlantis Paradise Island. Imagine sliding down an ancient Mayan
temple with nothing but beautiful views all around you. The epitome of perfection, am I right?
The Leap of Faith has one very special feature or scary that no other slide can even remotely
compete with. It travels straight through a shark tank! How epic is that. But I see why it could
be scary. The ride begins at the top of a temple and shoots riders through a clear tank that
filled with real life sharks! But don't worry as you'll be protected by a transparent underwater
tube but the experience is still very hair-raising, according to anyone who has experienced it.
Everything happens pretty fast but the fear is very real yet most people would gladly take a
ride on this exotic waterslide.

7) Cannonball Loop
The Cannonball Loop is quite possibly the worst water slide that was ever designed. It used to
be located at the Action Park in Vernon Township, New Jersey. The name of the slide really
does give it all away, as it is a water slide with a loop in it. The slide was only open for one
month during the summer of 1985, after which it was permanently closed because of the
amount of injuries incurred due to people getting on it. Some people didn’t quite make the loop
and fell off the top, because of, well, gravity. Other, less unfortunate souls had their backs
scratched up by all the sand and dirt that collected at the bottom of the loop also by our dear
friend, gravity. Also, mind blowingly, there was no pool at the bottom of the slide. Confused
and often injured riders were met by nothing more than a wet mat to stop their fall.
6) The Bondi Baths
The Bondi Baths have been appointed every title conceivable, everything from one of the most
gorgeous swimming pools in the world to one of the most poorly thought out water attractions
imaginable. Located on the southern end of Sydney’s Bondi Beach, the Baths is a swimming
pool actually built in the ocean. That means that the waves, which can get quite aggressive
and dangerous, often come crashing over the sides and into the pool. It also means that
constant, chlorinated pool water is not possible to maintain in the Baths, so it’s filled with
saltwater. There have also been stories told of sharks being chucked into the pool during high
tide and getting trapped. All in all this doesn’t sound like the most relaxing or pleasant way to
spend a lovely afternoon.
