Keep the Adventure and Curiosity Alive!

If you're lucky enough to visit this majestic medieval city during mid-June, you can experience the Five Petaled Rose Festival. It's all about going back to Medieval time to experience the ancient Celtic-Slavic times! As Nobelmen, Ladies, King, Queen and Knights walk these very street that their ancestors have...the beautiful part about all of this is that the background does not need Hollywood backdrop to have effects :-) As much as Prague is a beautiful city, this UNESCO town should be very high on people's list of places to see and experience in their lifetime. 9AM-5PM (09:00-17:00) is surrounded by tourists on the island part and northern entrance of Latran and up to the main sqare of the Cesky Krumlov so maybe go out on the outskirts and then return when they are gone? Either way...it's a fantastic place.

***Transportation, one can choose RegioJet or FlexiBus buses (Reserve online!!! It's cheaper and saves you the headache later, print and let them scan the barcode, have the e-ticket on your phone as a backup) or the train from Prague Main Station to Český Krumlov but the BUSES ARE RECOMMEDED, as it is faster to get to Český Krumlov and cheaper, I believe it was 2 and 1/2 hour ride, first stop was České Budějovice (Budweiser/Czechvar beer making city) on my bus line. If you choose a bus, there are 2 bus stations in Český Krumlov (Český Krumlov-Špičák, which is located in the North of the center. And Český Krumlov-AN is located in the SouthEast of the center). By taking the train from prague Main Station, you still have to take a taxi from Český Krumlov train station to the entrance OR walk 20-25 minutes with your bags and luggages. If you choose the bus then the Budweiser Gate (Budějovická Brána) is literally across the expressway. As soon as you get off the bus make a right turn go up the ramp that leads you onto the expressway bridge, make right onto the expressway bridge, once across the expressway, you're at the Budweiser gateway!!! Simple as that!!!

Hotel reservation, look into Pension (Penzion) along the Vltava River on the outskirt of the main island center for the best deals and away from mass tourists. Yes, most tourists are gone after 5PM, as they are there for a day-trip. They miss out a lot by staying for only one day. I recommend 2 nights minimum.

As for Restaurants and Cafes, you can NOT go wrong with pretty much anything but I find that sitting by the Vltava River on the outskirts of the island appealing because I can see the castle, the island and the riverbank while being away from crowded tourist restaurants and cafes, plus you get a lot better service because staff are not overwhelmed plus the place likely serve more authentic traditional Czech menu. Do not worry most speak English very well (But learning few local phrases will bring a smile to them, too). I do recommend a fresh Trdelnik, though that is not Czech traditional treat, regardless, fresh one that came off the rollers are the best with plum or nutella with nuts!

There are lot of things to see and experience in this small town. There are numerous museums like Egon Schiele Centrum Museum, Moldavite Museum, Technical Monument, Torture Museum, Puppet Museum, Monastery of the Minorites, Regional Museum in the Czech Krumlov, Regional Museum in the Czech Krumlov, Museum obchodu Cesky Krumlov, etc etc etc....

If you like kayaking, you can rent a kayak and see the main attractions from a different angle with exercise!!
