Trip to Sopot was our first short vacation in Poland, while there were limited flights going out of Poland due to COVID the trains within Poland were now working normal after a few months of complete lockdown, of course there were a lot of rules and regulations that we had to follow while travelling by train.

We booked Express Intercity Premium train for our travel from Warsaw to Sopot, its bit costly compared to other trains but it's less crowded and is super comfortable, you need a prior reservation for travelling on this train, normally booking for train opens one month in advance, we booked our tickets as soon as booking was open for our dates because of which we saved good amount as the later your book the more you pay, We paid around 90 PLN for our tickets from Warsaw to Sopot and around 140 PLN for Sopot to Warsaw for 2 adults, kids under 4 years travel for free. Make sure you are carry soft copy or hard copy of tickets and your identity documents, you can choose the coach and seats you want while booking the tickets, there are different websites to book tickets, we used https://www.intercity.pl/

It takes a bit more than 3 hrs to reach Sopot but journey in this train is not hectic, you will get free water bottles, mask, gloves and sanitizer wipes in train, you can also buy hot/cold drinks and snacks from trolly and there is also a restaurant coach in train where you can get proper food, since the journey was just for 3 hours we just had snacks we brought with us.

In Sopot we had booked an apartment through https://www.booking.com/, it cost us 1689 PLN for 4 nights which was a pretty good deal for an apartment which was just 5 mins walk from the beach.

Sopot is a resort city and is a very popular destination for Polish people to enjoy summer, there are only few places to visit in the city itself and people would spend most of their time on the beach, apart from the beach the wooden pier and the square is very popular in Sopot. You will find a lot of options for food, drinks and coffee across Sopot.

You can do day trips to Gdansk and Gydnia from Sopot, we went to Gdansk and it's a 30 mins cab ride from Sopot, you can also take a train or boat. We took a boat ride from Gdansk to Sopot, while it's costlier than a cab but it's definitely worth it. I have created a separate video for Gdansk, click below link to watch that video.
