Munich is the capital and most populous city of the free state of Bavaria. As of 2022, the population sits just shy of 1.6M, making it the 3rd largest city in Germany and the 11th largest city in the European Union. Home to numerous century old buildings and museums, this city attracts many tourists from around the world. The most popular time to visit Munich is in October during the annual Oktoberfest celebration.
