Kyiv's brilliant summer was on full display during a stroll through the city's Volodymyrska Park. This expansive green space, overlooking several lookouts of the Dnieper River, is the Ukrainian capital's outdoor soul.

Starting from the 18th Century St. Andrew's Church, this manicured and cultured park contains Artists' Alley where numerous local craftsmen peddle their creations. Shaded by many trees, this stroll is idyllic and contains almost everything a weekend in the park should have.

This pride of Kyiv is patrolled by the Volodymyr the Great Statue, who overlooks the Dnieper. Nearby is the newly installed Glass Bridge that, for some, is not for the faint of heart.

Matt engages in all the senses along Volodymyrska's path. The walk ends at the Peace Friendship Arch between Russia and Ukraine, a symbol that has been stressed during recent times.

To finalize the day, a quick ride along the city's funicular, a trip that definitely puts the "fun" in funicular.
