The Wieliczka Salt Mine was one of the most unexpected things I have ever done. When you think of a salt mine (or any kind mine for that matter) being a 'tourist attraction' you wouldn't be blamed for giving it a pass....luckily for us it was talked up so much when we arrived in Krakow and every review we read was good apart from a few people complaining about all of the stairs!

For us, exploring one of Poland's oldest underground mines was an incredible experience and one that I won't be forgetting any time soon. It's like a completely different world down there, literally a city underground. If you like video games and movies, think Unchartered and Indiana Jones rolled up into one real life location - pretty epic!

At over 300 meters deep and 287KM of chambers and passageways it all makes for a pretty call experience that everyone should do if they're visiting Krakow!

Enjoy!
