Kadzielnia - a hill, in the southwestern part of Kielce - the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Province. Kadzielnia, built of Upper Devonian limestone (fran, famen), has a height of 295 m a.s.l. The present excavation (previously there were quarries) fill groundwater to form the Emerald Lake.
Kadzielnia is the largest cluster of caves in the Kielce region (there are 25 of them), the longest cave is the Discoveries Cave, including three connected caves: the Cave of Discoveries, the Powder Magazine and the Rift in Kadzielnia. It has been made available to tourists as an Underground tourist route in Kielce. Other larger caves are: Eastern Cave in Kadzielnia, Jeleniowska Cave, Zawaliskowa Cave, Urwista Cave in Kadzielnia, Geologic Chimney, Cave behind the Pillar and Cave under Łodzikami [1] [2].
The highest part of the hill, Skalka Geologów, includes the Kadzielnia Nature Reserve. It is surrounded by about 30-meter escarpments.
The red tourist trail running through Kielce runs through Kadzielnia.
