Prague is undeniably one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. It attracts over 20 million of visitors annually. I’ve had the chance to visit Prague on multiple occasions over the years and I wanted to visit this city during the pandemic to see how Covid safe protocols were impacting the city.

To my surprise, Prague felt the most relaxed in comparison to other European cities I had visited. The city not only had more relaxed rules – face mask wearing was only required on the metro, however not inside buildings, like shopping centres (which was not the case in other places I had a chance to visit). Although, the rules were about to change.

The city definitely had fewer tourists than usual, as there were multiple restrictions upon entering the country. Or Czech Republic was on the red list of other countries – at the time Czechia had one of the highest covid rates in Europe. Nevertheless, I felt very safe and quite relaxed. Most places had clear signage and hand sanitisers were available.

It was great to see that Prague hadn’t lost its spirit despite the pandemic and still had an amazing vibe. On this trip, I made sure I kept safe, while enjoying all the major sites of the city.

I also decided to take a short trip to Kutna Hora, a small medieval town 1 hour from Prague. I wanted to visit the famous Saint Barbara’s Church (one of Europe’s most important Gothic churches) and also the Sedlec Ossuary (which is famous for the Bone Chapel!).
