Transnistria is recognised as part of Moldova, although the territory declared independence immediately after Moldova's independence from the Soviet Union. Many in Transnistria speak Russian and Russia has 1,500 troops inside Transnistria. Many in the territory allegedly wish for Transnistria to unite with Russia. Trasnistria has its own border control, currency, government and national flag. But, the country has no public airport.
