Parkovy Pedestrian Bridge(Known as Red Bridge) is one of the symbols of the city of Kyiv, and a favourite photo spot. Its distinctive silhouette is especially well seen from the observatory site near Volodymyr the Great monument. This is a light construction 400 metres in length that connects Kyiv city centre at the Right Bank with the recreational area and beaches of Trukhaniv Island. It was projected Ukrproektstalkonstruktsia Project Institute in cooperation with the world famous Paton Institute, and opened in 1957. By design, this is the welded bridge built using the automatic welding. Its length is 426.4 m, the width of the pedestrian zone is 7m. The bridge consists of the three central spans of hanging structure and two coastal areas of beam construction.Today, this is the only bridge constructed specifically for the pedestrian traffic over the Dnipro river; no vehicles allowed on it. Various extreme sports are practiced at the bridge, including the Bungee jumping.
