Stage 2 of this year’s Volta ao Algarve saw the riders tackle one of the first summit finishes of the season with the Cat 1 Alto da Fóia. Last year’s finish on this climb saw the young superstar Tadej Pogacar take an emphatic win from Wout Poels and put his name on the map at the start of what became a breakout season.
