There are very few books about Poland written by English-speakers and fewer still travelogues. Ben Aitken has recently launched his account of a year in Poland, entitled ‘A Chip Shop in Poznan.’ Engaging, easy to read and at times bittersweet, the book captures the story of an unlikely immigrant - a British person prepared to work in a low-paid, low skilled chop. Where else would a Brit end up that in a Fish and Chip Shop in Poznań?
