How Ukraine Has Changed Since The Soviet Union | Kyiv USSR Tour

Ukraine just celebrated 30 years of independence, but it has been a long road since it was part of the Soviet Union. The ideology of socialism leading to communism was ingrained through propaganda from a young age and borders were closed to the rest of the world were closed to the average citizen. When the USSR fell apart, Ukraine had to rebuild its economy and government from the ground up and it has been a difficult journey with corruption and conflict with Russia. I was born at the very tail end of the Soviet Union, but my Mom lived through almost 28 years of it. In today's video we wanted to give you a tour of some of the remnants of Soviet times that still can be found in Kyiv and talk about what it was like to live through those times compared to modern day Ukraine.
