Festival Órgão | Portimão (Abertura) 4K

A abertura do Festival de Órgão do Algarve teve lugar este ano na Igreja Matriz de Portimão, dia 1 de novembro, com o organista Gyula Szilágyi e a participação do Coral Adágio dirigido pelo maestro António Alves.

Para além das obras a solo para órgão que utilizou toda a registação do instrumento, foi apresentada a obra para coro e órgão Magnificat do compositor português João Rodrigues Esteves (ca.1700-ca.1755), que alterna entre vozes solistas virtuosas e o tutti.

Gyula Szilágyi estudou no Conservatório em Amsterdão, com Jacques van Oortmerssen e Hans van Nieuwkoop (órgão), Jan Marisse Huizing (piano) e Paul van Nevel (Música Antiga). Realizou inúmeros concertos em muitos órgãos históricos da Península Ibérica e participou em projetos de restauro de órgãos históricos em Jaén, Cádis e Sevilha. Obteve o Doutoramento em performance em órgão na Universidade de Música Liszt Ferenc, em Budapeste, com a dissertação “A Batalha - A vida de um género na arte do órgão ibérico”. É professor associado de órgão e de órgão litúrgico na Faculdade de Música da Universidade de Debrecen.

O Grupo Coral Adágio nasceu em Portimão em 1989. Inclui no repertório peças da Renascença à atualidade, da polifonia sacra aos espirituais negros, passando pela música popular, portuguesa e de outros países. Do seu percurso destacam-se várias deslocações internacionais, atuações em diversos programas de Rádio (RDP) e Televisão (RTP) e interpretação de missas e óperas de relevo. Gravou em 2008 o seu primeiro CD exclusivo, (L)atitudeS. Foi agraciado com a Medalha de Mérito Municipal, grau Bronze (2002) e grau Prata (2008). Tem como diretor artístico o maestro António Alves Alferes Pereira.

The opening of the Algarve Organ Festival took place this year at the Parish Church of Portimão, November 1st, with the organist Gyula Szilágyi and the participation of the Adagio Choir directed by maestro António Alves.

In addition to the solo works for an organ that used the entire recording of the instrument, was presented the work for choir and organ Magnificat of the Portuguese composer João Rodrigues Esteves (ca.1700-ca.1755), which alternates between virtuous soloist voices and tutti.

Gyula Szilágyi studied at the Conservatory in Amsterdam with Jacques van Oortmerssen and Hans van Nieuwkoop (organ), Jan Marisse Huizing (piano) and Paul van Nevel (Ancient Music). He has performed numerous concerts in many historical organs of the Iberian Peninsula and participated in projects of restoration of historical organs in Jaén, Cadiz and Seville. He obtained his PhD in organ performance at Liszt Ferenc University of Music, Budapest, with the dissertation “The Battle - The Life of a Genre in the Art of the Iberian Organ”. He is an associate professor of organ and liturgical organ at the Debrecen University School of Music.

The Adagio Coral Group was born in Portimão in 1989. It includes in the repertoire pieces from the Renaissance to the present, from sacred polyphony to black spirituals, as well as popular, Portuguese and other music. His career includes several international journeys, performances in various radio programs (RDP) and television (RTP) and interpretation of masses and relief operas. In 2008 he recorded his first exclusive CD, (L) attitudeS. He was awarded the Municipal Merit Medal, Bronze (2002) and Silver (2008). Its artistic director is the conductor António Alves Alferes Pereira.
